About

Built around one sentence from a crocheter

Hookprint started with a crocheter asking for a photo turned into a pattern she could actually edit, stitch by stitch, rather than a flat picture of a chart she had no way to change.

Today that means one of two evenings. Either the photo gets squared onto graph paper by hand, row by row, or it goes into a charting tool that was never built to take a photograph and has to be filled in square by square anyway. Both of them put the hook down for hours.

So Hookprint is one short path instead: upload a photo from your phone, read back a grid chart with its stitch count, color key and yarn weight, change the count and the colors and single stitches until it looks like the blanket you pictured, then take a PDF to print or a file for your Ravelry library.

We will keep being plain about two things. A photo loses some detail when it becomes stitches, and we would rather suggest a stitch count that holds the face than pretend otherwise. And the price sits next to what you already pay for a pattern, stated once, with no countdowns.

Chart your first photo

Sign up, upload a photo, and the grid comes back with its stitch count, color key and yarn weight. Three charts a month are free.
